SOX seems to be an up and coming area. I'm seeing these positions all over the job boards. What sort of background is required to get this type of job?

Typically its good to have knowledge of security, change control, backup and recovery practices, etc. This sort of position is usually in Internal Audit, rather than IT. Having a helpdesk background might be good though, because you'd be famailar with all IT processes.
